On March 25, 2023, the Vietnam Association of Logistics Manpower Development VALOMA) organized a practical business visit for the Vietnamese Student Logistics Club Network (LCN). With the desire to create a useful playground for students interested in the Logistics industry, and at the same time create opportunities to connect member clubs under the Network, the field trip had the participation of more than 40 students who are leaders of member clubs under the Network, with the guidance of Ms. Cao Cam Linh – Head of VALOMA Research Department, Ms. Ha Thuy – Deputy Head of the Membership Committee, Ms. Thai Ha – VALOMA Member, lecturer at National Economics University.
Before starting the trip, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Honorary President of VALOMA, disseminated the goals and orientation of this visit to all students in the Network: “Hopefully this trip will bring a lot of useful knowledge, as well as be a bridge to help students get to know and learn from each other.”
The actual visit took place at 2 locations: Dong A Joint Stock Company (Phu Tho) and the largest Sorting Center in the Northern region of Lazada Logistics (Long Bien, Hanoi). On the morning of March 24, 2023, the delegation received a warm welcome from the Executive board of Dong A Joint Stock Company in Phu Tho. At the ompany’s meeting room, Mr. Duyen – representative of the company’s Production Department presented the history of establishment, operating procedures and production and transportation processes of the company’s specific products. The students enthusiastically directed questions to the company’s Executive Board and listened to the sharing of practical knowledge about a company with specific products (Caustic soda, chlorine, HCl…) like Dong A JSC.
In the afternoon of the same day, the group arrived at Lazada Logistics in Long Bien, Hanoi. Here, representatives of the company’s HR Department disseminated Lazada Logistics’s single-order operating process and Lazada’s talent attraction programs through events such as Job Fair at universities and EduTalk. , sponsoring competition,ect.Immediately afterwards, the group had an on-site visit at Lazada logistics’s sorting centre and witnessed the technology applied by Lazada to optimize the order processing operations.
At 6:00 p.m., the group arrived in Hanoi and ended the 1-day field trip. The visit was not only an opportunity to help students interested in Logistics gain more practical perspectives, but also a playground to connect Logistics Clubs in the Network, helping clubs learn and understand each other to develop further in the future.
