On the morning of January 7, 2023, the Vietnam Association for Logistics Manpower Development (VALOMA) visited and worked at Phu Tho College of Electro Mechanics. The delegation included representatives from universities, colleges and institutes that are members of the Association: Dai Nam University, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration, Vietnam National University of Forestry, Hoa Binh University, Hanoi University of Industry, Thang Long University, Phenikaa University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University – University of Economics and Business, Thuyloi University, University of Transport and Communications, International College of FPT Polytechnic, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Banking Academy.

At the meeting, VALOMA representative, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Deputy Director of Agency of Foreign Trade – Honorary President of the Association expressed his desire to connect and further develop the relationship between VALOMA and the University.

Mrs. Tran Thi Thuy Lan – Principal of Phu Tho College of Electro Mechanics introduced the school to the entire delegation. Over the years, the school has continuously improved the quality of teaching. At the same time, the school also recognizes the need for human resources in the logistics industry, therefore orientates and expands training activities to meet market needs.

Attending the meeting, Mr. Dang Viet Phuong – Deputy Director of Phu Tho Department of Industry and Trade mentioned the status of logistics & supply chain industry in Phu Tho. In which, Mr. Phuong emphasized the advantages and limitations, and affirmed the high demand for logistics human resources in Phu Tho province today. In the seminar, the representative of the Association – Assoc.Prof, Dr. Nguyen Van Ha – Head of VALOMA External Relations Department – Dean of Faculty of Business Administration – Banking Academy also introduced information about the Association. With the mission of developing human resources in the logistics industry, VALOMA has actively made extensive connections between school and business activities.

Moreover, the teachers in the delegation also had an exchange of training programs and experience in teaching Logistics and Supply Chain Management at schools such as:

Shares of Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc – Dean of Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management – Dai Nam University.

Shares of Ms. Le Thuy Trang – Head of Business Administration Department – International College of FPT Polytechnic.

On the business side, the representative of GloseMate Company – Chairman of the Board of Directors – Mr. Nguyen The Hung discussed the requirements of enterprises for human resources in the logistics industry and expressed their willingness to participate and support Phu Tho College of Electro Mechanics to promote its training program associated with practical issues. Along with that, “For logistics activities in general, the situation of human resources is still lacking and the quality of personnel is still not high, what needs to be solved is to promote practical training” – According to Mr. Pham Van Hai – Training Director, DH Freight Forwarding Joint Stock Company.

At the end of the seminar, there was a general discussion about the teaching activities of Logistics and Supply Chain Management between the school and VALOMA. The program has been a great success.
